Dollar for a Drink

On October 1st, Joshua Guthrie officially launched Dollar for a Drink. The goal? To raise $8,000 before Christmas. The plan? A simple concept: Give up one drink. Give one dollar. Build one well in Sudan. So far, he has raised almost $3,000 towards his goal to raise enough money to build a well in Sudan. For as long as he can remember, Joshua Guthrie, 16, and his family have sponsored children through World Vision. For almost as long, Josh has wanted to purchase one of the “big items” in the World Vision annual catalog — like the $8,000 well.

His Mission . . .

is to increase the availability of clean water in the most needy areas around the world, beginning with Sudan, Africa.

His Vision . . .

is to improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people by making clean water available for drinking and irrigation, thus reducing thirst, water-born diseases, and military conflict that stem from lack of adequate water resources.

Furthermore, it is his hope to get as many teenagers involved in this project as possible, showing that it doesn't matter your age, you can make a difference in the world!

Dollar for a Drink is a registered 501 (c)3 organization. Please contact them if you have any further questions.

Please read the post on the Rebelution about this. It's really great.  http://www.therebelution.com/blog/2008/11/joshua-guthrie-dollar-for-a-drink/
